Types of TBI Treatments

Psychiatric treatments are helpful for individuals who suffer from anxiety and behavioral disorders, both of which are common side effects of traumatic brain injuries. One unique treatments I offer for brain injury patients is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a treatment where 100% oxygen is delivered at a greater atmospheric pressure. This increases the oxygen levels in the blood and makes oxygen more easily accessible to body tissues and to the brain. HBOT is not a proven treatment for TBI, but recent studies have shown positive results and I’ve seen many patient’s lives improved with it’s use.

How a Psychiatrist Can Help with TBI

The effects of a TBI extend beyond the life of the patient — they ripple to close family and friends, as well. As a Los Angeles psychiatrist for TBI patients, I use a “Whole Person – Whole Family” approach to treatment. Using integrative medicine and holistic methods whenever possible, I tailor each of my patient’s treatment plan to meet their unique needs and help them uncover their inner strength.
